A little girl feeling so lost

Won't find her way back

At no, no cost

She's seeing movement

In all the grass

She looks up sees

A sky of glass

And says this too shall pass

She's safe we think, at last

She sees a friend a ways away

She needs a hug to feel okay

They meet and kiss and play

Play a game

Which one of them will get to stay

With angelic host proclaim

They took her world away

Far away I can hear her clear

All the words she'd say

You tell them to me

But please don't tell them to her

It's better if she doesn't

Know what she has done

A little girl feeling so lost

Begins to take heed

To all the frost

Laying herself down

Down along the creek

Soon she won't

Have no blood to bleed

She had her patience

She has her dignity

But no, she's too tired

You had your chance

You held her helpless hands

But no, you were weak

A light inside my closet
