It all began with a lonely little shadow

Drifting its way through a dark and dreary hollow

Yet it believed there was meaning waiting out there

The faintest thread of a dream that it could follow

The world beyond was an unreachable haven

Alive with colors in endless conversation

The shadow tried to pretend that it belonged there

Grasping for elusive light

But when the shadow finally found the courage to venture from its confines, it faded in the light, leaving no trace.

No matter where it went, no one spared a glance as the shadow cried,

\"How can I make you see?\"
