Amanda Jayne grew up in a small town outside of Philadelphia, PA, United States, surrounded by trees and corn fields. Her mom, who was a piano teacher among other odd jobs, taught her to read music around the same time she taught her to read books. Her father, sisters and brothers all played music as well, so it seemed to her the natural thing to do.
