Long before the single, his “Cinderella story” began in Gothenburg. Andrelli taught himself how to play piano and guitar and learned how to produce at eleven-years-old via the program Rebirth. He listened to the likes of Swedish House Mafia and points to Max Martin as his “producer God.” Growing up, he devoted just as much time to soccer. After not going pro at 18, he felt “lost” until “stumbling back upon music again.” Grinding out “those 10,000 hours,” he holed up in his home studio and honed his skills. 2014 would be the toughest year of his life though, as Andrelli’s father died from cancer. With his wife pregnant and no money, he took a forklift job at Volvo, but he also made himself a promise…
“I always had it in my mind that I wasn’t going to stay there for long,” he admits. “I was going to do whatever I could to make it in music.”
In 2016, Andrelli remixed “Lighthouse” by Hearts & Colors, and it exploded right out of the gate. To date, the remix has tallied 145 million Spotify streams and landed on popular playlists such as Today’s Top Hits [26 million followers], Cardio [2.9 million followers], and more. A flood of remix requests followed. He lent his touch to Rihanna’s “Desperado” and “A Million Reasons” by Academy® Award-winning superstar Lady Gaga. Gaga notably played it during her headlining set at Coachella 2017. Among other notable projects, he also served up a remix of Alessia Cara’s “Trust My Lonely.” Following independent releases such as “Old Man” [21 million Spotify streams], “Yung Luv” with Hearts & Colors [21 million Spotify streams], and more, he inked a deal with UMG Sweden / Island Records for the upcoming single.
Now, Andrelli’s single “Hey There Delilah” reflects his evolution. Transforming Plain White T’s smash “Hey There Delilah” into a dance floor mood, subtle guitar and piano give way to glassy synths as the vocalist croons the instantly recognizable chorus.
“I didn’t want it to sound too hard,” he elaborates. “It’s representative of my signature poppy chill vibe. It’s a song that’s easy to remember. I fell for it really fast. The vocalist nailed the vocals in one take. It’s a new staple in my life. I feel like everything is happening for real now.”
In the end, Andrelli offers a different kind of sustenance via his music.
“When you listen to me, I want you to feel happiness,” he leaves off. “I want you to feel hope. There’s a meaning to everything I do. It comes from an honest place.”
