Roxie Jane has been singing since she was a little girl. Her mom always sang to her everywhere they went, which sparked her interest in music. The first song she learned how to sing fully was the Star Spangled Banner. Roxie Jane has been writing songs since the 5th grade but she didn’t start playing the guitar until she joined the “Agape Club” (‘God’s Love’ Christian Club) at her middle school in the 6th grade. At the Agape Club she would lead the club in worship songs and every once and while she would share one of her own songs as well. 
Learning how to play the guitar changed her whole perspective on songwriting. It made her interest in songwriting and music even greater. Songwriting is something she ‘holds close to her heart’. As soon as she gets home from water polo/swim practice, she grabs her guitar and is constantly looking for new chords, writing new songs, or brainstorming new song ideas. All of Roxie Jane’s songs are about God. She says ‘All of my songs are about my relationship with Jesus Christ. He is the only one my heart wants to sing about, which satisfies me perfectly. To me, life is meaningless without the guidance of my King. He guides me, loves me, changes me and then I write about that. I have yet to write a song that isn’t about Him’. Roxie Jane says since God has blessed her with the ability to sing, play guitar, and write songs she will only use her music to glorify Him. 
She can be seen playing at local coffee houses. Roxie Jane has also entered in the “Reflections” program at her school many times, participated in her middle school’s talent show all three years she attended it, as well as the talent show at her high school ministry at “The Packing House Church” in Redlands. She has also played at “The Packing House Church” at Sunday Night Service.
“Pray On It” is her debut CD. The album is named “Pray On It” because her and her family literally prayed on this album. “We prayed that God’s blessing would be on this CD and that the focus wouldn’t be me but Him.” She explains the Title “Pray On It” with these words, “I’ve grown up in a house where praying is a daily routine. It’s what I’ve been taught to do at meals, by myself, before tests, before games, and with others. It’s a something I never stop doing. Since prayer is so important to me, ‘Pray On It’ seemed to fit the name of this CD perfectly.” 
She spent most of her 2011 summer and after summer most of her Saturdays for about 3 months recording at her producer Josh Holley’s studio. Roxie Jane explains this experience to be “really fun” and “a learning process”. She says, “Recording is so different from just grabbing your guitar and singing whatever. You have to think about how you want to arrange your songs to make your listener fall in love with what you are saying. Recording is all about capturing the true feeling of the singers voice and the guitar chords. All of the things you think wouldn’t matter, totally do. I think if you are going to sing a song, you have to mean what you’re saying with all of your heart. If you listen to a song and can hear the emotion and honesty in the singers voice and lyrics, that’s real music”. 
Roxie Jane admires Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Pink Floyd, Yes, Stryper, Switchfoot, White Heart, and Carrie Underwood. Her favorite color is deep blue. She loves spending her time at the beach and the mountains with family. She has been a competitive swimmer for nine years and a water polo player at Citrus Valley High School for two years. 
 
Roxie hopes to spend her life writing about her experiences with Christ and her experiences in life. Roxie Jane is positive that God has so much in store for her if she just trusts Him with her music. She hopes to continue rockin’ on for the Lord!
