I thoroughly enjoy and appreciate many different genres of music, but I have always been enamored with jazz.  From Julie London to Ella and Diana Krall, I love listening to various musicians interpretations of the beautiful jazz standards of Hoagy Carmichael, Irving Berlin, the Gershwin brothers, Cole Porter and so many more.  There is nothing more fulfilling than keeping such incredible music alive, and at the same time, bringing joy to audiences of all ages! I love this job!!
My friend, Denis Burgess, and I sing the great jazz standards with John Greiners SwingShift Big Band out of Wausau.  What a thrill it is to sing the classics from Ella, Anita ODay, Peggy Lee, Helen OConnell, etc. with a full big band behind you!  
Every summer for the past six years or so, Ive been part of a jazz trio thats had the privilege of performing to wonderful audiences in the dining room of Voss Birchwood Lodge in Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin. Voss is a century-old, beautiful resort on the shores of Spider Lake that serves delicious gourmet meals prepared by Chef Chris Gardner. We typically perform every first and third Thursday of the month during the summer (sometimes altered due to holidays), and reservations are encouraged. 
I am very blessed to be surrounded by wonderful friends, many of whom are incredible musicians!  I have an absolute blast making music with a group of ten amazing people.... my Hip Pocket family. With three vocalists, four horns, and the best rhythm section around, you can imagine the harmonies that flow!!  We take many classic rock and R&B tunes (even a touch of country!), add vocal and horn arrangements and make them our own!  Several of the Hip Pocket musicians join me on jazz gigs.... which makes for a perfect wedding or corporate party band!  Many times, well play jazz sets during cocktails and dinner, then kick things up for some great dancing with Hip Pocket.  Incredibly fulfilling musical evening!!
It is always a pleasure to perform with my very talented friends, and I look forward to seeing you at one of our next performances!
