Ellipsos Quartet is a french saxophone quartet formed in Nantes in 2004. From their studies to Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Paris, he defends an original repertoire of arrangements of works from the classical repertoire but also contemporary music. He recorded two albums with various colors ("Medina" and "Peer Gynt"), which is exported to over 40 countries. At the head of their annual saxophone camp, they engageon the international scene by offering recitals increasingly demanding while endeavoring to discover the saxophone quartet in all its forms.
Today, their repertoire is used by a large number of saxophone quartets and knows of particular interest to the general public.

Ever since it was created in Nantes in 2004, The Ellipsos Quartet has been inspired by these three values, developing into ambition for Paul-Fathi Lacombe (soprano saxophone), Julien Bréchet (alto saxophone), Sylvain Jarry (tenor saxophone), Nicolas Herrouët (baritone saxophone) and making the Quartet one of the most promising ensemble of chamber music of that generation.

Flamboyance
A lively interpretation emerges from a crystal sound.
These brillant musicians give new light to music. When performing the four musicians are completely absorbed and the audienc enthralled.
 
Determination
Thanks to their constant quest for renewal, this quartet has gained remarkable self-confidence.
The first quartet to enter the Pro-Quartet vocational training center and the chamber music class of the Conservatoire de Paris. They feel quite confident.
Their repertoire keeps expanding with original arrangements which have made them famous, and for which they have been awarded several international prizes.
These four saxophonists are quite happy to play with other groups like string quartets, javanse's gamelan, and jazzmen etc....
In their latest project « Sax & Gospel », they have even introduced singing to playing their instruments.
They have been invited several times to play at Radio-France, and that have also given concerts at Salle Pleyel, Petit Palais and abroad.
6000 copies of their two cd's Medina and Peer-Gynt have been sold.

Generosity
Apart from set performances, The Ellipsos Quartet loves sharing and passing on their passion.
When playing in public, the response from the audience is spontaneous and generous.
They're all teachers and eager to hand over to younger generations their know-how during their yearly sax-camp : Académie Nantaise du saxophone, and a musical performance for school children including saxophone music, master-classes in France and abroad.
And as music is not confined to music-halls, The Ellipsos see far beyond.
Concerts are performed for UNICEF, they're invited to Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Italy, Morocco, USA, Brazil, and even further.
