Minneapolis-bred Ruby Stinson always had a thing for music. This thing evolved into a passionate love, which she attributes to her musical upbringing. She pursued this love by attending performing arts school until the age of thirteen where she honed her dance and performance skills. Stinson truly represents the well-rounded artist that audiences crave today (as showcased by her involvement with Green Dance Company and learning to play the viola). However, it is her talent and zest for songwriting that sets her apart. By the age of nineteen she had recorded a catalog of songs. Although influenced by an eclectic mix of musical giants like Otis Redding, Lauryn Hill, The Roots, The Fugees (proudly, her very first cassette tape), Bette Midler, Dixie Chicks, Talib Kweli, and Hole, Stinson offers an originality through the gaze of her deeply personal songwriting.
 
After graduating Parsons: The New School for Design, Stinson returned to her roots and reconnected with her first love: music. On June 6th, 2013 she released her debut album Unbound. Produced by musician Benny Reiner (Drake Bell, The Band Perry, Megan & Liz) the album pulls influence from Reggae, Pop, and R&B sounds. A record release party for the album was held at The Bowery Electric in New York City to a packed crowd and positive reviews. Unbound can be found in over 18 different online stores including iTunes, Spotify and iHeartRadio. She currently resides in New York City.
