Smile, Shake and Daydream
Brad Senne performs as a solo artist and with a revolving cast of musicians in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Energetic and compassionate, Senne’s songs leave fans smiling, shaking and daydreaming over melodies that are both brilliant and natural.
Senne recorded his first solo album, titled That’s Silence Talkin, in 2000 using a Roland VS880EX digital recorder. He went on to record his next self-titled album in 2003 with a friend using Pro Tools, hoping to animate production.
Still looking to amp up production, Senne recorded File In Rhytm at Flowers Studio (Golden Smog, The Jayhawks, The Replacements) with engineer Ed Ackerson in 2005. Released under the moniker Beight, the sessions yielded a tender and nervy collection of songs that received many accolades from local and national press.
In early 2007, Senne bought a laptop computer and recorded the basic tracks for The Shapes That Shift Us. The album was mixed with additional instrumentation added at Crazy Beast Studios with Ben Durrant (Andrew Bird). The song "Caroline to Maine" is a catchy folk-rock gem that keeps listeners humming for days, while "Drift Gently" is reminiscent of the sparse finger-picking style found in Beck's album Sea Change.
Brad frequently plays in Minneapolis as a solo musician and with the band Beight. He is planning both a West and East Coast tour in 2008.
