Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Dewain is a self-taught songwriter who got his chops singing in the church choir growing up and counts a wide variety of musical influences ranging from Hall & Oats, Billy Joel and Ambrosia to Lionel Richie, Smokey Robinson and Journey. “My goal as a songwriter is to make music that out-lasts me,” says Dewain with a big smile, “timeless music.”
