24-year-old Roman Kim has burst onto the musical scene as a breath-taking virtuoso with stunning musicality and intelligence. His transcription for solo violin of Bach’s famous Air on a G String – the first person to dare such an audacious feat – was snapped up by giant German music publisher Baerenreiter after his own nuanced performance of the work on YouTube created an overnight sensation. His YouTube fame preceded the acclaim he has since achieved in large concert halls in Germany, Spain, Israel, Italy, Russia and South Korea. In halls such as the Philharmonie in Cologne and Hamburg Laeiszhalle he played with the NDR Sinfonieorchester, the Staatskapelle Halle, the Fondazione lirico sinfonica Petruzzelli (Bari) and the Moscow Symphony Orchestra.
