Grand Pavilion is a local Brisbane band consisting of members Tom Hunt and Stuart McNair. They formed at University and together create a mix of electronic, indie pop. 
The Grand Pavilion sound has been described as transformative and textural. The two producers Tom Hunt and Stuart McNair combine their love of textures, layered samples and rhythms, incorporating real instruments into their electronic blend. Taking influence from sample based bands such as Bonobo and Lapalux as well as bands like Bombay Bicycle Club, which expose the duo’s folk, indie roots.
Originating in Brisbane Australia, this electronic collective have garnered a subtle following from blogs and music fans extending overseas, despite having only released two singles, their first ‘Footsteps’ already receiving some Triple J play. They first collaborated on a project during their last year of University with a band in tow, but decided to continue on as a duo when they saw their sound tailored more to the studio and exploring layering samples and electronic production.
Fresh from overseas the guys continue to refine their sound and incorporate elements they loved from the London and Berlin EDM scene as well as pushing the limits of how the production is recreated for their live show. A lot of their time thereafter has been spent writing in the studio, experimenting with new production techniques and collaborating on remixes with various artists including ‘Sumie’ off the Bella Union Label and Brisbane’s own Cub Sport.
