With every generation, a handful of up and coming artists will emerge with something that becomes the foundation for a groundbreaking sound and vibe. Known to the streets as Yung Bama, his debut CD “The Road Less Traveled” fuses the gritty world of hip hop and the ease of country, forming a recording that reaches beyond the typical demographic, alongside his other 7 cds he has released.  
Born Dec. 2, 1984, Bama was raised in a two-parent household in what he calls paradise, but to world, it’s known as Athens, Alabama. Growing up, intrigued by the hip hop lifestyle and its broad reach. Although a pen and pad became his best friend, so to speak, he wasn’t looking to join the ranks of emerging rap artists. Moving to Bowling Green in 2004, at the age of 19, Bama found himself picking away at a keyboard - still not quite serious about making a move into the mucky waters of the music industry. That was until he met Lil’ Round, a fellow beatmaster with BlueGrass Cheddar, a local, independent record label. Crediting Round for that internal push, Bama went forward with his decision to become an artist; however, he took a different approach to the business - making beats. Garnering an internship at a recording studio in Atlanta, Bama had the opportunity to work with national recording artists, which only fueled his desire to do his own thing.  
After doing music for nine years, a master’s degree in audio engineering from the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences and a business management and Phsychology degree from Western Kentucky University. He has a total of eight videos with two more on the way, has done over 250 shows in seven different states, and released a total of seven compact discs with three more coming out in 2013. Throughout his recording career Bama has had the opportunity to engineer songs for Lil’ Wayne, Bobby Valentino, Diamond and Princess from Crime Mob, Archie Eversole, 2 Chainz etc. He worked at three of the top recording facilities in Atlanta, The Soul Asylum Studios, Hot Beats Studios, and Patchwork Studios along while running his own successful studio in Bowling Green.
