All good things come from England? Theres a band that begs to differ. Worlds apart from your bog-standard rock band (which seem to have been cloned since the mid nineties), [mellow] are pushing the boundaries and airing the dusty sheets of a monotonous German music scene. [mellow] are Achim, Robert and Handrin. Three lads from Heidelberg who peek behind the scenes of our workday and burrow in the depths of our soul to lead us back to our equilibrium. No light without darkness, no rough without softnessno [mellow] without [mellow]. After Robert saved the remaining two thirds of [mellow] from their sad, bassless double act, the beginning of a new era was honoured with a new practice room design and the obligatory bottle of bubbly. Old bass lines were dusted off and given a new coat of paint, the reinstatement of the low frequencies encouraged old song ideas of the duo days to sparkle with a startling Evergreen sheen; in short: [mellow] rose out of the ashes to new heights. Now you belong to us had nearly sold out when the trio prepared themselves to put the practice room material to the record test. After a few cosmetic improvements, the band kitted themselves out for a rough ride through unfamiliar terrain. Until complete, the recordings were not to leave the auditory canals, eyes or hands of the musicians for one moment. Diverse specialist literature was studied, the acquisition of recording equipment took precedence over daily food, and eventually what sounded like an old soap box began to take on the shape of a reasonable kick drum. The result sounds distinctly more mature and relaxed than its predecessor, and even thought-provoking in parts. The working title rage á trois became lost. An eclectic album, the result of a long journey and the beginning of a new one.
