It seems the return of Robert Owens to house music centre stage is assured with the release of Love Someone.With a great reaction to the original and Slope remixes, we now give you part two of the release, with three new mixes (plus a killer remix instrumental on the digital release). First up comes the one that many of you have been waiting for in the shape of the Mario Basanov & Vidis ‘Redo’. The Lithuanian production outfit (not Slovenian as a certain BBC DJ has reported) comprises Mario Basanov, already an established producer in his homeland, and Vidis, a DJ, and lynchpin of the Lithuanian club scene. Mario has worked with a wide range of acts making a name beyond the Baltic States; Skint Records’ Nu-ravers Metal On Metal, Prog Houser Ignas I.V. and DJ collective\u002Flabel RyRalio. Vidis meanwhile is a DJ, Radio presenter, Promoter, Journalist and now Producer. The ‘Redo’ has been making waves over the summer months in the sets of the few DJ’s that got hold of a copy. It has featured on both Gilles Peterson’s and Pete Tong’s radio shows on BBC Radio 1, and the calls keep coming as everyone wants to get their mitts on this Moroder meets Carl Craig monster of a mix. Atjazz has also been busy working on new mixes, initially for his own DJ sets, but due to the reaction we’ve decided to release them here. His ‘Deeper’ mix sets a building groove which fans of his sound will love, while the Deep Order vocal dub is a club DJ’s dream. A creeping floorfiller, which has that all too rare quality of being able to switch a dancefloor mood both up a level or down a notch. The digital release will also feature an instrumental of the Mario Basanov & Vidis mix for those wanting to work that big, big groove.
