Higuchi Eitaro lives in Kyoto and is part of the community around the Satanicpornocultshop collective and the Neji label. Since 2002 he has been releasing under his moniker Dagshenma and Zaumi is his first for Electroton. His work is centered around the idea of implementing and manipulating the voices and songs of the ainu, an indigenous group from the north of japan, into modern electronic music. The title Zaumi, an allusion to Zaum, an artificial language of the russian futurists, can be understood as a synonym for finding a conceptual way for this effort.
