Hailing straight from the all enticing dub continuum plexiq came upon the world in 1997 as a 5 piece electronic band based in Hamburg, Germany. Their particular acoustic approach to electronic dance music not only instantly made them darlings of the international music press, but established them as one of the most breathtaking live acts one could catch at both dance and concert clubs all over the planet. And rightly so: The band's work still stands out as utterly unique in sound, style and attitude to this day. plexiq were anti-musical elitism and never belonged to the faction of semi-conventional rock bands trying to tie into the changing conceptions of sound by just decorating their music with electronics. Blech, a collection of early singles plus newly recorded material, was released in 1998, produced and mixed by the band itself with the help of Ledernacken Folke Jensen in his Hamburg Ultraschall studio.
