Atjazz returns with the next single from his forthcoming album Full Circle and what an absolute killer it is! This time teaming up with Robert Owens, a man worthy of the label Living legend of house music, it’s a pleasure to release this record on Mantis Recordings. For any of you post acid house people i.e. young, who don’t know Robert’s work, he and Larry Heard formed Chicago house innovators Fingers Inc. in the mid eighties. He also later had hits, alongside various members of the Def Mix team, with songs Tears and I’ll Be Your Friend . A DJ, producer and outstanding songwriter and vocalist, Robert has never been far from an all-accepting dance music culture, and his immense understanding of the synergy and soul that sparks when people come together is present in everything he writes. Robert came to the Mantis studio for a couple of days, to initially work on a track for Robert’s forthcoming album for Compost Records. This went so well that they decided to write a second song for the Atjazz album. You’ll have to wait to hear the song they wrote for Robert’s album (it’s great), but here is the resulting track for Full Circle, the fantastic Love Someone Remixes have been crafted by Slope aka Dj Honesty and Daniel Paul, who also know a thing or two about how House music works. They’ve already released three albums on Germany’s Sonar Kollektiv, and have worked with artists close to our own heart such as Clara Hill, Capitol A and Jane Hamilton. These guys also produced an awesome version of the Mad Mike and Yolanda Reynolds classic Your Time Is Up. Slope hit with a classic house sound on their ‘Slope’s 90’s Mix’. In fact it’s reminiscent of some of Robert’s earlier work, so we felt as this was such a fitting tribute, it deserved a prominent place on the vinyl release. On the flip they give us a superb vocal dub of the track. It grooves, it builds, and it works the dancefloor. With a song this good we want to keep the dancefloor baying for more week on week, so we intend to keep DJ’s and dancers happy with a further 12”, which we’ll be dropping very soon with new mixes by both Atjazz and Lithuanian newcomers Mario & Vidis, the latter already creating a buzz.
