DRONE, the thrashers from Celle, Germany have been mixing up the German Metal scene since 2005. At the Wacken Open Air festival they were triumphant winning the final of the Metal Battle Contest in which ca. 1500 international bands participated. The press praised Drone as live even stronger, more powerful and more energetic. With their self produced music clip to the song Welcome to the Pit they could visualise their live presence into an action loaded video clip. At the end of 2006, the four thrashers recorded their debut album Head-on Collision at the Stage One Studios under the supervision of producer Andy Claasen. The album will be released in February 2007. Powerful parts pair together with sophisticated arrangements and close, with melodic hardness, the gap between modern and old school, and between virtuosic and brachial grooves. The album will be presented by the band live on the Metal Battle Tour 2007, where Drone will be appearing all over Germany and further a field as special guest act.
