KOFFIE enjoyed a sunny season thanks to the success of their debut album and the single Kyrie Ayé which made it to the Radio 6 playlist. The band also played festivals in the Netherlands, Belgium, Hungary and Switzerland. Even their debut’s release, KOFFIE were already making new instrumental tracks in a former GDR garage in Berlin where such musical luminaries as afro-legend Ebo Taylor, Tony Allen (Fela Kuti’s drummer) and King Khan also recorded. An 8-track tape recorder gave KOFFIE the exact authentic sound they were looking for. While their first album still reflected their development and growth, this album has them sounding all grown up. This second album, Éh Lady, will be released on 22 November. KOFFIE’s music is described as a mix of afrobeat, jazz and 70s funk. On the podium, the band can always get a crowd moving with energetic songs and virtuoso solos. By combining the musical vibe of jazz and afrobeat with an audience-centred sense for pop, KOFFIE have proven to be the ultimate festival band. Now it’s time for the clubs!
