The music of Peruvian rock band Emergency Blanket is fully charged with life and energy. With influences from rock classics from the 60’s, 70’s and 90’s “the Blankets” achieve a very classical but yet very fresh and original sound. The bands latest album release entitled Absenta is an eclectic mix of rock n riffs, mixed with catchy tunes and creative lyrics. The debut single from the album entitled “Survivors” is a heavy riff filled, beat driven rock n roll anthem worthy of any rock fan ears. History The LP Combi + Nation (2008) was the band’s first full fledge album (they released an EP “What is the Emergency Blanket in 2005). The new LP “Absenta” was released in June 2012 (Peru) and will be released world wide on November 2012 via DO IT Records. It was recorded (in Lima) and mixed (In Los Angeles) by sound engineer German Villacorta (Ozzy Osbourne, Eva Ayllon, Rolling Stones) and the record was mastered by Dave Collins (The Police, Soundgarden, Black Sabbath, etc) In 2009 they opened for Faith No More in their “Second Coming World Tour” in Lima. In 2010 they won the Peoples Music Awards (Metal\u002FPunk\u002FIndie\u002FRock) in London, England and also completed their first European tour playing in 3 countries and 9 cities in total. In Zurich they opened for legendary Spanish band “Hombres G”. They received positive comments from the judges at the awards such as “I am very impressed by their energy and enthusiasm and the quality of their writing and playing. In March 2011 Emergency Blanket played as an official band for the SXSW Music Festival plus additional dates where played in Austin as well as participating in the SXSW 4 Japan telethon organized by the Hanson Brothers in the famous “Same Sky Studios” to raise money for those affected by the earthquake\u002Ftsunami, to round up their first US Tour they played a couple of gigs, one in the legendary The Mint club in LA and the other in The Trip at Santa Monica. The 22nd of October of 2011, the band opened for Aerosmith in San Marcos Stadium in front of 20,000 people.
