The ladies of Saved by Ruin headed to Atomic Audio in Oakridge, TN for two weeks in May of 2009 to record New Perspective. The album was produced by former Straight Line Stitch drummer Patrick Haynes, and engineered by Whitechapel founder and former guitarist Brandon Cagle. The 11-track debut album from Denver's most known, all-female band is both heavy and melodic, and disturbing yet beautiful. As Jake Ryan of Colorado Local Legends puts it: Their musical style seems to come from every different direction, making the task of trying to place them into a specific subgenre of metal a senseless act. Utilizing concepts from old and new school metal, punk, alternative, and damn near every other formulation of rock, their sound can be described simply as Saved By Ruin...New Perspective is the kind of album that, after hearing it, makes you immensely proud of the musicians making it.
