The Joyful Noise soundtrack surpassed even my expectations. Though the film's main theme is spiritual in nature (which of course is a wonderful thing), don't have the mentality the songs are sad and heart-breaking. If anything this CD is the complete opposite: the tracks are uplifting, upbeat and full of inspiration even the few songs that are ballads. Some of the tracks were written by none other than Dolly Parton herself and there are some amazing remakes of classic hits done here that take on a new persona of their own by the artists who perform them.
