Lots has changed for this exciting band since their excellent debut album War on the Inside. The band's front figure Nina Treml has moved from guitar to bass with her husband Tommy Vetterli (Kreator a.m.o.)providing some tasty and competent leadguitars. All in all giving their new album a much harder, heavier edge and a lot less gothic.The center of their music is still Nina's beautiful vocals and really catchy songs. Despite all the heavyness each of the tunes could work very well unplugged around the campfire - much like Evanescence.There are elements of doom and death metal, even some male growls on a couple of tracks. But mixed with a healthy dose of grunge and Alanis Morrisette. And for older listeners like myself also traces of 80s new wave: Pretenders, Siouxsie, Missing Persons.Topnotch production, excellent musicanship (although Nina's basswork is hardly audible), a string of could\u002Fshould-be hits. Perhaps not as charming as their debut but definetely a release that appeals to a wide audience and could be a much deserved breakthrough.
