On his trio set (which has fine support from bassist Anders Jormin and drummer Jon Christensen), he often sounds a bit like Keith Jarrett, Lloyd's pianist of the 1960s. Stenson shows more energy than one might expect to hear on an ECM date, although he also has several introspective explorations. Highlights include a somber My Man's Gone Now, an impressionistic version of Duke Ellington's Reflections In D, the Latin feel of Minidatyr and a spirited The Enlightener.
