Vancouver, British Columbia's Animal Names has saved the best for last. The band's final full-length, Let It Been, will be digitally released today on iTunes via its own label, Boat Dreams From The Hill. Let It Been was recorded in August of 2009 and thankfully, survived the group's impending break-up. Residing somewhere between soulful indie pop and guitar power pop, Animal Names reaffirms the simplicity of smart, textured songwriting and injects it with plenty of wit, to boot. Blending together punky, intertwining guitars with a melodic complexity, the band's restrained approach eschews cheap hooks in favor of embracing subtlety.
