As evidenced by their 2008 self-titled release, One Way Mirror are a group of very angry gentleman, as singer Guillaume Bideau screams and hollers his way throughout the entire album. But…they haven't entirely blown their top, as bits of honest-to-goodness melody rears its ugly head from time to time. It's hard to tell at times if the group is an extreme metal act, a nu metal act, or a Fear Factory-esque electro-metal act. And that's probably just the way One Way Mirror likes it. Case in point, there are few metal bands nowadays that would have the cajones to go from the agro-melodic metal of the album opening Destination Device and the Pantera-esque Danger Calling to a charged up cover of Relax by Frankie Goes to Hollywood. All in all, One Way Mirror's self titled release sees a group that is one of the few that manages to appeal to several different metal sub-genres. And by judging how fickle metal fan can sometimes be, this is certainly no mean feat.
