by Heather PharesKitty in the Tree's Hello Kitty introduces the band's enjoyable fusion of glam rock and power pop. Like any glam band worth their glitter, Kitty in the Tree's fetishes include drugs, outer space, and girls, as well as handclaps, spiky guitars, swooning harmonies, and spacy sound effects. On their best songs, such as Starf**ker, Galaxy Holiday, and The Dotted Line, Kitty in the Tree sounds like a cross between Menswear and Suede's poppier side. The album falters a bit due to too many songs that sound the same -- it would have been a solid EP -- but that doesn't prevent it from being an entertaining, if somewhat silly, listen. Hello Kitty might please glam and romo fans looking for a new fix of over-the-top fabulousness.
