by Stewart MasonBy far the better of the two bootleg-feel (but official releases sanctioned by the Pooh Sticks' leader, Steve Gregory) live albums released in 1989, Orgasm has the immediacy and dicey energy of a really good live show, the kind that feels like it can go flying apart at any second, but doesn't -- quite. Kicking off with the band's early anthem I Know Someone Who Knows Someone Who Knows Alan McGee Quite Well and continuing on through a high-energy set of other tongue-in-cheek Pooh Sticks classics like Heroes and Villains (not the Brian Wilson track, but a Wilson tribute of the same name) and Indiepop Ain't Noise Pollution, Orgasm (named after the legendary faux-live recording by freakbeat avatars John's Children) is both a trifling giggle and a solid set of punk-influenced sweet-tooth pop. Gregory's label, Fierce Records, reissued this set with ten studio tracks in 1991 as Multiple Orgasms.
