Tacoma Narrows Bridge Disaster hail from London, the meeting of five minds who share a love for atmospheric art-metal. Bringing together elements of post rock and progressive metal, as well as diverse influences from glitch to stoner rock, they generate a unique and mesmerizing sound. Painting landscapes filled with the broken remnants of civilizations gone by, Exegesis, takes inspiration from the work of Philip K. Dick. While its mostly instrumental nature may keep Tacoma Narrows Bridge Disaster from becoming a household name (as a band anyway), this five-piece is a talented, technically proficient group well worth watching. It’s a marriage of inspired songwriting, highly skilled performance, and close-to-perfect production engineering. I was somewhat disappointed by the relatively short, electronica-injected interlude of “Going Out Like Lights On A Switchboard”, but that may have only been by comparison to the strength of everything else.
