Latin pop\u002Frock foursome from Ecuador Tranzas was formed in 1986, led by singer\u002Fsongwriter and guitarist Douglas Bastidas, debuting live while playing at 1987's Rock Total festival. In March of 1988 the band recorded its debut album, called Sue?o Astral. A year later, Tranzas came in first place after participating in a rock contest sponsored by MTV. In 1990, original drummer Jorge Ponce decided to leave the act, soon, Alfonso Velez took his place.
