“The Voice” Season 3 fan favorite Cody Belew spent months performing weekly for throngs of fans on the show and is continuing to build on that success with the release of his debut album, What You’re Looking For, on September 3. The album encompasses multiple musical landscapes and takes the listener on a roller coaster ride of emotion with ten unique pop songs. On What You’re Looking For, Belew focused on creating an album that brought back the artistry of the male pop vocalist. By steering clear of auto-tuning and techno beats, he successfully created a project that relies on catchy vocal lines and live percussion elements. All ten songs and four interludes were created from a place of genuine artistic inspiration from Belew and producer Dustin Ransom. Belew created the album in its entirety, from inception to production, in a short eight months. “This album is my promise kept to my fans. I said I would write music that was danceable, timeless, and full of energy and would fill a void in what’s out there right now,” says Belew. “I feel I delivered that and I hope the fans agree.” From the disco-infused, pop title track, to the token pop anthem “Down and Dirty,” Belew takes listeners off the beaten path and down a road only the bold have traveled. This album is just What You’re Looking For.
