James Maddock's lovely melodies and perfectly crafted lyrics stay in your head. He delivers them in his distinctive, heartfelt manner, and gets an assist from a great band comprised of some of the best musicians New York City has to offer. From the universally resonant title track and I've Been There Too to the gorgeous Leicestershire Mist, the heartbreaking Timing is Everything and What Have I Done? and the wistful If I Had A Son, this could be your Record of the Year. It's certainly in the running for mine.
