Power, energy, intensity. These three words defined Shadowside’s career path very well. With 3 albums out, tours in 21 countries playing in front of a total audience of over 100000 people, the band is considered nowadays the rising star of Brazilian Rock / Metal. Formed in the sunny city of Santos, Brazil, the band got attention in its early years for their attitude and passion on stage. They released a demo EP, praised by the local Metal media and helped build a loyal fanbase after a few intense live performances. Such buzz created high expectations for their debut album “Theatre of Shadows”, released in 2005 in Brazil, at that time considered one of the best records ever released in the country. The result was a tour supporting Helloween in Brazil and a quick run through the United States, where they started being called by the fans “Brazilian Metal Hurricane”. However it was on the second album that Shadowside stopped being a promise and became reality. Being one of the best selling Metal albums in Brazil and appearing on several “Best of the year” lists, the tour in support of Dare to Dream album included several cities in Brazil, USA, Spain, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Romania, consolidating the band as a name to be remembered in the worldwide Metal scene. In late 2010, Shadowside went on a long European tour as legendary W.A.S.P.’s special guests. The nearly two months long tour included Italy, Spain, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, England, Scotland, Wales, North Ireland, Ireland, Hungary, Poland, Lithuania, Estonia and Finland. In early 2011, the band supported Iron Maiden in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and took the opportunity to introduce to the crowd their newest material, Inner Monster Out. Produced, mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordström in Gothenburg, Sweden, the album features guest vocalists Mikael Stanne (Dark Tranquillity), Björn Speed Strid (Soilwork) and Niklas Isfeldt (Dream Evil) on the title-track.Recently released in Brazil and schedule for a worldwide release in May 2012, the album is already a turning point in the Brazilian Metal music history and received high praise. Inner Monster Out brings a heavy, bold, aggressive and intense sound, accompanied by Dani Nolden, a 4-octave range singer who's considered by the fans and reviewers as one of the most powerful female vocals ever heard. With love for making music, courage to take risks and pursue their dreams, Shadowside are once again ready to hit the Road and unleash their “inner monster”.Press quotes and scores:Rock-review.ru (Russia) - 4/5La Grosse Radio (France) www.lagrosseradio.com - 8.5/10 (reviewer's score) - 9/10 (editorial staff's score)Collector's Room (Brazil) collectorsroom.blogspot.com and Whiplash.net (1st review) - 9/10 - Shadowside's greatest merit on 'Inner Monster Out' is balancing an extremely modern sound without forgetting about the main heavy metal features - heaviness, melodies and exciting choruses. That way, their new album manages to accomplish pleasing literally everyone. Inner Monster Out starts a new chapter on Brazilian heavy metal. With it, Shadowside takes over as one of the main names of the genre in our country and becomes reference worldwide when showing it's possible to make heavy metal sound modern and keep its roots ... The new album pictures a change in command on the politicized scene of the country, dominated by bands that survive more on name than on quality of their current works. Shadowside shows what's new out there with their new album and brings with them a considerable amount of fans that aren't happy anymore with unheated leftover formulas of bands until now untouchable. Whiplash.net (2nd review) - 9/10 - You must have read several reviews praising eloquently this 'Inner Monster Out' album and asked yourself: is it really that good? The answer is only one: YES! There is no way not to praise such work.Rock Brigade (Brazil) - 9.5/10 - Maturity and heaviness elevated to the maximum potency! Those are the words that come to mind when you are done listening to Shadowside's new album 'Inner Monster Out'. The band concieved the best album of their career so far ... and if with it Shadowside doesn't go big, I don't know what else is missing!Roadie Crew (Brazil) - 9/10Combate Rock - Rock column of Estadão newspaper (Brazil) - Shadowside's 'Inner Monster Out' becomes quality reference in Brazil.About.com (USA) - 4/5 - The music is melodic and crunchy in the power metal vein with plenty of guitars. The band also injects modern metal elements into their sound. Nolden's vocals are impressive on Inner Monster Out. Whether she's singing fast and angry on the thrashy songs, or more technically on the straight ahead metal songs, Nolden is always compelling. Shadowside may not be a known quantity in North America (yet), but their brand of bombastic and catchy metal makes them worth checking out.Metalunderground.com (USA) 4/5 - Stand out or be forgotten. There comes a point in the career of every band where its faced with that proverbial shit or get off the pot moment. The third effort from this Brazilian power metal quartet presents that crossroad and Shadowside responds with a crushing blow. Shadowside has finally come into its own, avoiding the stigma of mediocrity. The band has donned the spikes, suited up the leather and let the Inner Monster Out with a fresh aggression, marking Shadowside’s place in shaky ground of modern power metal.Apochs.net (USA) 9/10 - It has a rather unique sound, and pretty much each track here will have your head banging along. There really isn't a bad song or even a filler track to be found here, making it just an all around good album you can sit back and relax to, or throw in and just go crazy with it.
