This CD contains a fine selection of Willie's Capitol recordings, from the early to mid 1960s. Though he was never noted for his vocal range, each performance is a classic, a movie without pictures. You can hear his love of jazz, western swing, odd times and changes, along with excellent arrangements, and above all, the superb songs themselves, wry, clever, aching - Willie had the best lyrics (often his own) and never wasted them with a poor performance.
